European Burmese Page
Breed Description:
European Burmese are very smart and active. The EuroBurms are very much like the Abys, with a few differences, besides colour. They are very heavy, because of all the muscle and are very fast on the ground (even faster than the Abys on the ground). They always jump onto things to get to the highest point in the house or apartment and if they try to attempt what the Abys do, which is jump across from one high spot to another, you will find that they fall in mid air. The other difference is that the EuroBurms love to stay on a person's chest or lap for long durations and if there is something going on in another part of the house or apartment, they want you to get up and take them to see what it is. They are called the "Velcro Strips" or "Kling-ons" of the cat world. They love to sleep with you, under the covers. They will meet you at the door when it is time to come home from work . They also love to help prepare the food and help sample the food, too. They play fetch with kitty caterpillars (made from pipe cleaners). They would be okay with dogs.
I find that the boys are very sweet, and the Torties in the girls are also very sweet. The Solids in the girls are very prissy, too sophisticated for most people, whereas the Torties are like tomboys, clowns, goofballs and very personable. The Torties can hold their own with the boys in play fighting. And the Torties are very rare in the States and their colours are described as Marbled and the photos don't do them justice at all. Once you have a Tortie, you'll see why they are very popular in other Countries.
Here are some of the European Burmese that I have had and are either placed with other Breeders or have been petted out. There are 8 different colours shown here and as I get other colours of the European Burmese to show you, I will be putting them up here too. European Burmese come in 10 colours.

This next photo is Bes Bargo's Imp of Abristine, a Chocolate female, who's mother was Imported pregnant (with her and her other littermates) from Mark Houghton-Smith in Kiama, NSW Australia back in Sept. 1996. Imp was born 25-Nov-1996 in Portland, Oregon USA.

One European Burmese that I had is a Lilac Tortie and her name was Bijouxcats Krystal SheerRose of Bes. SheerRose was from a female (Rosepark Sheer Magic) that I had Imported from Australia in Sept. 1996, which is also the mother of Warrior, so SheerRose is half sister to Warrior. SheerRose died 29-July-2000, from a mutated Virus that came into my home by some Silver Aby kittens that a breeder sent me.

This is Bes Skya Blue and her date of birth is 1-June-2000. She is a Blue Tortie and this photo doesn't do her justice. She loves to play fetch with Kitty Caterpillars and she will only stop fetching, if you tire out before her. She is now going down to Boca Raton, Florida to live with Scott & Terry Wolfson.

This is Bes Kahlua's Miracle and she is a Miracle baby, as Kahlua, her mother had a Portosystemic Shunt (Congenital Liver problem) and should have never conceived. Micki, was found healthy (no Liver problems) when we spayed her and will be kept as a pet, as I think she thinks I'm her mom and I know that it would be very hard for me to let her go. Micki was brought unto this world on 7-December-2001 and she is a Chocolate Tortie.
On this day of 24-May-2007, I just found out that Micki passed away at her new home (I don't know when), but the people who had her didn't have the decency to let me know. This is very devistating to me. This was my little girl. Now I wished I never gave her to the people who had an uncaring Vet, who blamed me about her health and her teeth. May she rest in peace.
