Bes Cattery

Bes Cattery is owned by Kim & Phillip Ghobrial of Tualatin, Oregon (close to Portland).  We have been breeding cats since 1983.  We got into breeding cats with the idea "To Better the Breed".  We have always strived for clean Health, Personality, and Longevity, with Show quality as a bonus when we get them.  We won't compromise the Breed to get a fast win.  We believe that outcrossing is the way to go in keeping the Breed alive.  I have always researched the Pedigrees of potential kitten purchases or potential Breeders that I will use, so that the Health is always there in the kittens that I produce.

I breed the European Burmese:  Brown, Brown Tortie, Chocolate, Chocolate Tortie, Blue, Blue Tortie, Lilac, Lilac Tortie, Red & Cream.

I have also Imported the European Burmese from Overseas.  I had done 3 years of research (Health) before bringing the first 3 females (all from different lines) over from Australia in Sept. 1996.  The 2 Females (above), are from the original cats that I brought over from Australia.  The European Burmese are different than the American Burmese in looks and in Health.  The European Burmese come in 10 different colours:   Brown, Chocolate, Lilac, Blue, Red, Creme, Brown Tortie, Chocolate Tortie, Lilac Tortie, and Blue Tortie.  Any other colour than these are considered Bombays, Burmillas or Asians.

I also, breed the Asians (known as a Burmese in a different Coloured coat):  Selfs, Smokes, Burmillas, Tiffanies & Tabbys.  I'm specializing in both Silver Ticked Tabbys and Burmillas, tho, I am getting more Smokes.  I am going by GCCF's (England) Standards.

I am looking for some experienced Breeders who are willing to work with the Asians in CFA, so that we can get more Breeders involved.  There are hyperlinks on the Asians page to see what is required.

Currently the Asians are being Registered in TICA and in CCA (Canadian Cat Assoc.).

I live in a 2 bedroom apartment and it is always clean and I have all my adult cats and kittens that I keep, tested Negative for Leukemia and the Aids Virus.  I do keep my number of cats or kittens always down, because I want to give everyone enough love and attention that they need to make them happy.
